Although many of our adopters didn't know each other, everyone wanted to see the photo albums each of them brought of their rescue babies. (Standing near the window are Darla and Fran, who adopted Bailey, the very first rescue from the newly founded UMR group, talking with Debbie Birtwistle, who fostered him.)

Fran and Jerry are two of our best friends and supporters. Jerry is holding 16 yr old Prince, a UMR rescue adopted by Cathy Brown (UMR) when he was 14, and Fran is holding Skipper (age 10) who is the adopted baby of Mary Harrigan (Atlantic Maltese Rescue).

Cathy LoPresti gives TikiBelly Brown a kiss. Cathy has adopted three kids from UMR in the past 3 years. She is a great Maltese mom, a good friend, and a very special UMR supporter.

At any Maltese party there MUST be Maltese. Here are a few of our furry guests.

This is Ronda, one of our UMR volunteers/foster moms. Hiding behind her on the stairs are Gracie and Boo.

This is Rob, Ronda's husband (he is just as great as she is!). Behind Rob is a Maltese quilt, handmade by Mary Harrigan, that we raffled off at the party.

This is our Matti and her mom, Anne Marie. Matti has come a long way since we picked her up from the PA shelter last winter. She is so very, very loved by her new parents that she will be a true Princess for all her days.

Jeff and Lisa are mom and dad to our Sunny. They brought the biggest photo album I've ever seen, just filled with photos of him. Sunny has lived with them for a year this month and they plan to celebrate his New Beginning with a party at a local dog bakery on October 21.

Tom and Judy recently adopted Buttons. They brought photos of him and his sister, Annie (also a Maltese). These two little fluff balls are inseparable and both are much loved by their mom and dad.

Barbara Fine, UMR Treasurer, spent some quality time with the doggie kids before the party got started.  On her lap is Freddie. Barbara fostered Freddie (who had numerous medical problems) for UMR last winter, then adopted him.  He is now a happy, healthy boy.

This is Rick and Kevin, holding Nugget. They adopted Nugget from UMR only a few weeks ago, and didn't want to leave him home alone while they attended the party. Nugget looks pretty happy with his new parents!

Lee Oden, UMR's President, held many of the babies throughout the day to keep them calm. Here she holds Grace Catherine Harrigan, who'd had a little too much party for one day.

At the end of the party, there were some very tired pups, to say nothing of their humans. Here is Cathy Brown, UMR Sec'y, with her kids, Bailey (left), Lucy (on mom's lap), and TikiBelly (snuggled up). Walker (AMR foster boy) is on Mary Harrigan's lap, with Skipper Harrigan sleeping next to his mom, and Gigi (UMR foster girl) on the pillow discussing the party with Mary.
