Willy's Story…

Willy AbbyWilly, now Pookie, came to us from a local shelter. He was a stray and in pretty rough shape. The shelter felt he was unadoptable because of his age and condition, so they asked us to try to find a home for him. We don't know how old he is exactly, but we believe he is somewhere in the neighborhood of 11 or 12 years old.

Although placing senior dogs is sometimes difficult, Abby really wanted to adopt an older dog, following her elderly boy, Kodi's trip Home to the Bridge. We loved Abby when we met her, and as it turns out, so did Willy! She is the perfect mom for him. We thought we'd let Abby tell everyone about Pookie's new beginning.

Abby wrote: I just had to drop you a line and tell you how very well my little boy is doing. I am SO GLAD that he is now part of my life. We have definitely bonded and he has become another part of the family. He is lying on his little bed next to my computer desk waiting patiently for me to get ready to go to bed. He knows our routine now. My dogs always get a little treat and a chewy before I go to bed so now he really looks forward to bedtime. I love him so much and wouldn't give him up for the world. I'm just so glad I found him. He really helped to fill the deep void that Kodi left behind when he passed away. I still miss him very much every day, but having Pookie around helps me out so much.

I want to thank you again for giving me the opportunity to adopt him. He is an incredibly good little dog. I just absolutely LOVE him. Also, I want you to be able to show all those maltese-lovers how wonderful and fulfulling it is to adopt an older dog. I wouldn't give him up for the world!!!!!!!!
